KNOW SAMIRA
Samira Wiemer is a warm, understanding, experienced psychologist passionate about supporting individuals, parents, and couples through life transitions and family challenges. She believes that often, everyday life can become too busy; we can feel pushed around by life or like we are rushing through life with no direction. During these times, we can lose track of what really matters in life, such as our values and dreams. This disconnection can lead to feelings of depression, anxiety, dissatisfaction, and persistent stress. Samira aims to provide a space for individuals,
parents and couples to press pause, regain control and refocus on what is most important in their lives. By reconnecting with what matters most, clients can create a greater sense of joy, fulfilment, and control, ultimately improving mental health.
Samira holds a Master of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) degree with a Diploma in Counselling. Her training includes Gottman Level 1 and 2 supporting couples using research-based assessments and effective interventions; Circle of Security Facilitator training enabling her to assist parents in providing emotional support to their child, allowing them to achieve a secure attachment. Parenting as a Team Program allowing her to help couples develop the skills to support each other in parenting. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy to help couples and families resolve conflicts and distress within relationships.
